i.d. mate OMNI is a portable, "all-in-one" talking bar code scanner. This electronic device aids a visually-impaired individual with the identification of items using the product's bar code or UPC. By means of digital voice recording and text-to-speech technologies, it allows users to access an on-board database of product descriptions, along with a tailored set of recorded voice messages.

i.d. mate OMNI can be used to quickly identify any product or item that is not easily recognized: cans, jars, boxes, bottles, clothing, playing cards, prescription drugs, CDs, albums, cassettes, books, important documents, anything!

Bar codes are placed on virtually every product sold in stores today. i.d. mate OMNI contains a large database of items, including groceries, music, movies and much more. Many items in the database have extended package details, such as nutritional information, ingredients, warnings, instructions, package size, song titles, movie ratings and other information. UPC database updates are available every 6 months.

With i.d. mate OMNI, the user can quickly additional voice-recorded information to exisiting products or to items not found in the database.

Additional bar code labels are available to label any product that does not already have a bar code. Adhesive, tag and iron-on bar code labels can be on items such as clothing, file folders, appliances, keys, hobby supplies and leftover food. You can simply can the bar code and add a voice recording.
