Mobile Geo is the world's first Windows Mobile GPS software for the visually
impaired on off-the-shelf mainstream wireless devices. Powered by GPS technology from the award-winning
Sendero Group, Mobile Geo marks another milestone in Code Factory's quest to be the reference in innovation
and visionary leadership.
What is unique about Mobile Geo?
Mobile Geo is a product comparable to its off-the-shelf retail GPS counterparts. Developed by Code
Factory access technology specialists, Mobile Geo is designed from the ground up to provide specialized
information like the “Explore” and “Look Around” modes for blind and low vision travelers, a unique
feature to Geo.
Mobile Geo runs efficiently on an ever-increasing number of handheld wireless devices from the world's
most popular and reliable manufacturers including A T & T Wireless, Sprint, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile,
HP, HTC, Motorola, Samsung, Dell, Palm and many more.
Mobile Geo is affordable. Mobile Geo does not require high-priced proprietary hardware. Combined with
Mobile Speak, your wireless handset becomes an accessible media center,
notetaker, personal information organizer, and your very own navigator.
With Code Factory's user-centered licensing system, Mobile Geo users can transfer their license from
one device to another whenever they wish, at no additional cost.
Featuring an array of navigation tools, such as the ability to explore the most up-to-date maps
available in a virtual environment, users of Mobile Geo can create, edit, save routes and explore any area
without even leaving home. Data for Geo is always present on the device's memory card. No need to worry
about losing a data connection or paying monthly fees for online map data.
Mike May, CEO of Sendero, says, “I have found a powerful synergy between our two nimble companies to
create innovative products. We know that blind people deserve many options to suit a variety of needs and
budgets. Mobile Geo is something I could only dream of when Charles LaPierre and I began working on
accessible GPS in the mid 90's, and here it is!”
Some of the unique features of Mobile Geo are:
1. It is activated using Code Factory's User-Centered Licensing system, which allows you to easily
transfer your product license from one mobile device to another.
2. On Windows Mobile Standard Smartphones, it uses vibration alerts patterned after the Morse code of the
first letter of the event to notify you of approaching turns, upcoming waypoint intersections, arrival at
your destination, etc.
3. It is integrated with the phone's Contacts application, allowing you to select a contact and set the
home/work address associated with it as your destination, starting point for a route, or to save it as a
user-defined point of interest (POI).
4. It gives you an easy way to call a restaurant, shop, school or any point of interest nearby, using your
cell phone, by simply selecting that place from the extensive business database or your own list of
user-defined POIs.
5. It works with external Bluetooth GPS receivers from Holux, RoyalTech, GlobalSat and most other
manufacturers, as well as working with the built-in GPS receivers present in some mobile devices such as
the Samsung Blackjack II, A T & T Tilt, Sprint Motorola Q9C, Motorola Q Global, PPC 6800 Mogul and
XV6800.
6. It is available with map data and POI files for different countries including the United States of
America, Canada, the United Kingdom and Ireland, Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, Germany, the Netherlands,
Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Switzerland, Poland, Russia, Greece, South Africa and
Singapore/Malaysia/Hong Kong region.

“Working with Sendero Group has been a very enriching experience. The challenge of putting together the
efforts and know-how of Code Factory in accessible mobile phones, and Sendero Group’s expertise in accessible
GPS and talking maps, has been successfully met and Mobile Geo is its evidence,” explains Eduard Sánchez,
Code Factory's CEO. “With this new product, we offer the blind and visually impaired an excellent navigation
aid assisting in more independent and safe travel and allows exploration of much of the world with a truly
portable device.”
What can Mobile Geo do?
- The main screen of the application always displays the most important information including GPS status,
current position and heading, nearest POI and intersection, upcoming route waypoint, and active modes.
- Open the “Where am I” screen anytime to find out details about your current location (address, street,
city), nearest POI and intersection, and map coordinates (longitude and latitude).
- Create, recalculate, reverse, save, load and cancel routes.
- Quickly get information about upcoming turns and nearby intersections and POIs.
- Select an address, set your current GPS position, enter latitude/longitude coordinates or set a POI or
waypoint as destination, virtual position or user POI.
- Create, search, share, edit and delete POIs.
- Apart from the GPS navigation mode which continuously keeps track of your GPS position in relation to
the route waypoints or nearby addresses, you can also use Virtual Navigation mode to explore your immediate
vicinity on the map without physically being at these locations. This means that even while following a
route, you can get an overview of your surrounding area and continue to receive real-time GPS
information.
Here are 20 reasons to get going with Mobile Geo:
1. GEO IS BACKED BY THE BEST
Based on the revolutionary technology of the Sendero Group, makers of innovative refreshable Braille navigation
products such as the BrailleNote GPS, Mobile Geo is the first, best software GPS solution for the blind and Low
Vision that can be installed on mainstream mobile phones and wireless devices.
2. GEO WILL LOOK FOR YOU
When you're on the move with Mobile Geo, be it at either 1 mile per hour or 101 miles per hour, relax while Geo
automatically announces upcoming intersections, points of interests, city names and so much more; all through
the comfort and convenience of your mobile phone. Want privacy? No problem, simply attach your favorite wired
or Bluetooth headset to your phone and "You're Ready to Go."
3. GEO GIVES YOU VIRTUAL REALITY
Want to experience a real virtual reality? With the combined power and technical resources of Code Factory and
Sendero, use Mobile Geo to explore your world without ever leaving home. That's right! Geo lets you preview a
route or visit a distant city, including its points of interests, with the virtual flick of a real switch.
4. GEO'S GOT YOUR BACK
Seamlessly slide Geo to the background when you want to make or answer a telephone call, send text messages,
read emails, surf the web, whatever and whenever you want and Geo will continue to provide "LookAround"
announcements.
5. GEO LISTENS TO YOU
Mobile Geo is the first and only world-class GPS navigation software solution for the blind and Low Vision that
is 100% compatible with Microsoft Voice Command, a voice interface solution that allows you to issue commands
by merely speaking them into the phone. So, the next time you find yourself walking up the boulevard or rolling
down the street ask Geo and it will tell you where you are, the distance to the next intersection or what turn
you should make next. Don't worry, even when you're exploring your world in Virtual Mode, Geo can still hear
you and will respond to your commands. It just doesn't get any better than this.
6. GEO'S HOT
Feel the heat of Mobile Geo one-touch Hotkey commands; just tap a key and enjoy Geo's lightning-fast reply,
telling you everything you want to know.
7. GEO'S GOT VIBES
Not only will Geo navigate, listen, and reply with speech and audio feedback, it will also shake you up. Geo
will move your body as it tells you how to move through your world with its innovative Morse Code-based
vibratory feedback alert system. Deaf-blind travelers will find this feature especially useful.
8. GEO'S GOT POI POWER
Looking for a particular point of interest? With Mobile Geo, you have the world's most powerful POI and
intuitive mobile search engine at your fingertips. Mobile Geo is the one and only GPS mobile software solution
that, in addition to the traditional search criteria such as name, street, City, and web address, allows you to
search for points of interests in a specific direction of travel.
9. GEO IS INDEPENDENT
With Mobile Geo, no data plan? No problem. Because all of Mobile Geo's active mapping and POI information is
stored directly on your mobile phone, there is absolutely no need to pay for a wireless provider data plan.
When you've got Geo and built-in or external GPS receiver, you’ve got all you need.
10. GEO WILL MOVE WHEN YOU WANT IT TO
Code Factory has implemented its User Centered Licensing policy into Mobile Geo. So, when you're ready to move
to another mobile phone or wireless device, Geo will move with you, for free.
11. GEO KEEPS COUNT FOR YOU
With its onboard pedometer, Mobile Geo will count the distance you travel, so you don't have to.
12. GEO WILL CONTACT YOU
With the new Mobile Geo Contact interface, not only can you lookup and call those listed in your phone's
Contacts List, but you can also set the Contact's address as a destination or virtual position.
13. GEO LETS YOU DABBLE WITH THE DETAILS
When you open a POI's Details Screen, Mobile Geo lets you act on its information such as dialing its telephone
number, sending an e-mail, or browsing to its web page.
14. GEO KEEPS YOU WARM
Engage Mobile Geo's "Getting Warmer" function to gage the remaining distance and direction-heading to a
specific destination or street.
15. GEO LETS YOU SET THE STANDARD
Mobile Geo lets you set your preferred settings like never before. Quickly and easily modify the look and
feel of your Mobile Geo experience by customizing everything from sounds and vibration to adjusting the
announcement distance for approach and arrival.
16. GEO REMEMBERS YOUR HISTORY
Avoid missing important navigation alerts because of ambient noise, SMS notifications, calendar reminders, or
incoming telephone calls by using Mobile Geo's "Announcement History" feature. Engaging this robust
navigation tool insures that you will never again miss a step, turn, or route instruction as you travel from
place-to-place.
17. GEO LETS YOU SWITCH
Because Mobile Geo is a Windows Mobile application, you can switch between the two wireless signal networks,
GSM and CDMA. Note that in the USA, A T & T Wireless and T-Mobile are the major GSM wireless providers
while Verizon Wireless and Sprint PCS are the major CDMA wireless providers.
18. GEO LETS YOU BUY MAPS AS A BUNDLE
With Mobile Geo, you can purchase maps for 15 European countries, as a map bundle, for only $60.00.

Mobile Geo can now be controlled by voice: Version 1.5 is available as a free update for Version
1.0 users
Support for Microsoft Voice Command, implementation of a pedometer, significant improvement in POI
functionality, and updated maps and POIs
This is a free update for users of version 1, which was released in September 2008. In the tradition of
Sendero and Code Factory product development, the feedback from Geo users has been quickly incorporated
into version 1.5 to include support for Microsoft Voice Command, new setting to define the maximum speed to
announce approaching intersections, pedometer function to keep track of the traveled distance, new map and
POI data, and many new ways to work with those points of interest.
It makes most sense to hear about the points of interest in your direction of travel, something unique
to Mobile Geo and the latest Sendero GPS products. The portability and convenience of GPS in your Windows
Mobile device is unparalleled, especially given the latest Geo features. Also unique to Geo are the
vibration alerts. The automatic lookaround capabilities of Geo far outstrip other GPS phones, not to
mention the Explore mode of Mobile Geo based on 9 years of Sendero GPS and talking map development.
If you don't already have a Windows Mobile phone, it is well worth obtaining one in order to have the
many benefits of Code Factory's Mobile Geo accessible GPS.
