Mountbatten
The Mountbatten Brailler family enables a visually impaired student to learn and compete in the least restrictive environment, learning and communicating written language skills right alongside sighted peers. Not to be left behind, the visually impaired student learns Braille in the context of the core curriculum using the Mountbatten to support the achievement of individual educational goals. Only the Mountbatten Brailler family introduces the student to reading, writing, Braille and computer technology in a truly integrated manner. Mountbatten Writer: The Mountbatten Writer is a standard model ideally suited in the classroom for early Braille learners, or for older students and adults who desire a simple Braille writer and embosser. Equipped with digitized speech, the Mountbatten Writer provides auditory reinforcement for keystrokes as well as commands. Mountbatten Pro: The Mountbatten Pro adds synthetic speech to all of the features of the Mountbatten Writer. Early computer skills are learned with the introduction of editing files in memory and electronic notetaking. The Mountbatten Pro’s synthesized speech assists the student to create an assignment, edit, modify, delete or block text, producing the final copy in print or Braille, or both. Page formatting concepts are learned with the Mountbatten Pro’s settings for tabs, automatic margins, erase and correct, and an array of other features that make Braille writing an enjoyable and successful experience. The Mountbatten Brailler also has a simple calculator for early math learners. You can write an equation in Braille and then let it calculate the answer for you. This exciting new feature helps students develop their math skills while using the Mountbatten Brailler family. In addition, the Mountbatten Brailler family also has a scientific calculator. This powerful, built-in calculator does much more than a standard one: Not only can it add, subtract, multiply, divide, calculate percentages and extract square roots. It can perform algebraic expressions, trigonometric functions, etc. You can even store calculation results in its 25 memory locations to make it easier to work with complicated computations. The Mimic LCD allows a sighted instructor to supervise any work
done on the Mountbatten Brailler family. For further reference, please visit the Mountbatten website. Tech notes: |
