Orabis is any easy-to-use digital magnifier that reads aloud to you!

The Orabis is both a reader and a HD magnifier in just one device. It is the perfect combination to read text without getting tired. Just select the text that you want to read and with the push of a button, a clear human-sounding voice will immediately start reading. With the Orabis, it will be less tiring for you to read text, books and newspapers. It opens a completely new way to read.

Why Orabis?

Many people with low vision are tired after reading text for just 15 minutes, so reading a long article is almost impossible. With the Orabis, you can easily start the read-aloud function and listen to text.

People suffering from Macular Degeneration, Retinitis Pigmentosia, and other retinal degenerative diseases have problems with reading continuously. The Orabis is designed to support daily reading without limits.

Just use one device to magnify and to read aloud. Why buy a separate video magnifier and a reading machine or have a separate computer with scanner?

Reader

With the column selector (the vertical line in the middle of the screen), you can easily select a text block or a column on the screen to read. Press the start button and 2 seconds later, the voice starts reading the text to you. A rectangle around the word follows the text. That way, you have a clear overview and you know your exact reading position.

By having text read to you, you can reduce the magnification while having a better overview. You only need to select the text and press a button to hear the text. It's a whole new way of reading which enables you to read quicker, longer and to move your text around the screen less. No more seasick feeling you get with other magnifiers.

After pausing or sliding the text, the Orabis continues to read the correct part of the text. Volume, language and the reading speed are adjustable.

Magnifier

Besides being a reader, Orabis is a magnifier with a magnification range from 2x up to 20x.

Just turn the knob in the center of the Orabis to change the magnification. You can also change the colors from picture mode to negative, positive or any other combination.

Screen

The Orabis has a large 22" wide screen display.

Do you need a larger monitor? The Vocatex Plus, the high-performance read-aloud video magnifier, is available with monitor sizes of 26", 32" or even 37".

Two Mounting Options

The Orabis is available in two separate mounting options, a flat table base and a flexible desk mount clamp. The flat table base keeps the Orabis camera in a fixed postion and offers a smooth flat surface for your reading materials. The flexible desk mount clamp allows you to adjust the position and height of the Orabis camera for various tasks. You can select your mounting option at the time of purchase or request to have both mounting options for an additional charge. The desk mount clamp and table base options are shown below:

Languages

The Orabis is available in 19 different languages and a total of 38 voices.

The integrated high-end human sounding voices provide the Orabis the highest quality available today.

The Orabis is equipped with voices from Nuance Vocalizer. Nuance is the largest speech company in the world.

Patented Technology

The Orabis uses the patented technology used by the Vocatex, which has proven successful throughout Europe. The Vocatex is a multimedia HD video magnifier and reader with large screens available in 26", 32" or even 37". It combines the same features of the Orabis with larger screens and better image quality. For even better performance, step up to the Vocatex.
