That resulting knowledge created the SmartView Xtend, making it easy to use, desirable and upgradeable.

With one base model is tailored to your needs, getting started is easy with the SmartView Xtend. It includes all the basic features you would expect, plus a few more that customers asked for. If you decide you want to upgrade your SmartView to include more features, you can - easily and affordably, by choosing any of the SmartView Xtend modules.

A flat screen monitor is fitted to the SmartView Xtend. An ergonomically-designed arm allows the screen position to be adjusted to suit your specific requirements. This monitor on the SmartView Xtend offers one of the most accurate color pictures viewable. You also have the option to view images exactly as they are or enhance the color of the image to view it exactly as you want.

The SmartView Xtend is made to fit your environment. Users asked for a clean, simple design with neutral coloring. The response is one of the smallest desktop video magnifiers available, designed to complement any modern living or working environment. And with the SmartView Xtend's unique LED lighting design, you never need to worry about replacing light bulbs.

Features of the SmartView Xtend:

Simple preset magnification function that allows you to set and return to your favorite magnification setting;
Lines and blinds that guide you around the page and remove distracting clutter;
Enhanced page locator for easier document navigation;
Precise zoom control, allowing you to set the zoom level you want.

Through usability testing, SmartView Xtend has buttons that are clearly marked with easy-to-recognize symbols. Each button has only one primary function. The brightness control is on the front panel, and brightness, contrast and colors can be adjusted simply. You have independent control of the brightness and contrast of your image whether you are in text or picture mode.

Softer LED lighting has been incorporated into the SmartView Xtend. The light is placed only where it is absolutely necessary. The reduction in glare means that now even shiny material can be viewed with ease.

There is no more debating the optimum location of your controls. The SmartView Xtend's optional remote lets you position the controls where you want. Also, the reading table (or X-Y table as it is sometimes known) has been designed for smooth “hands on” manipulation of what you are viewing. Smooth sliding helps you keep your place when reading.

The SmartView Xtend will always be the video magnifier you want it to be because it is completely upgradeable. A basic black-and-white model can become a full color model and can even be upgraded to a computer access model if required. SmartView Xtend is the most upgradeable video magnifier ever made. Even the flat screen is upgradeable, so if at any time you want to change to a new screen, it will fit with your existing SmartView Xtend.

Each of the SmartView Xtend modules has been designed to suit the differing needs of customers. Three great modules are available:
